Booking Your GAMCA Medical Appointment in Ahmedabad
- Select Ahmedabad as your medical city on the booking form.
- Fill in your passport and visa details exactly as they appear on your documents. A mismatched name or passport number is one of the most common reasons slips get rejected later.
- Add your visa type.
- Enter your National ID, like your passport number.
- Pay online by UPI, card or bank transfer.
- Receive your slip. It usually lands within 15-30 minutes, and it’s valid for 30 days from your booking date, so plan your centre visit within that window.
- Check your assigned centre’s address as soon as your slip arrives. Since Ahmedabad’s centres are spread across different parts of the city, this gives you enough time to plan your route, especially if you’re travelling in from outside the city.

Does an Old Chest Scar Affect Your GAMCA Medical Result?
The chest X-ray is one of the standard parts of the GAMCA medical, and it’s meant to screen for active conditions like tuberculosis, not to penalise you for old, healed injuries by default.
That said, this is an area where we’d urge some caution. A scar on the chest X-ray, even an old and inactive one, can sometimes get flagged for further review, and depending on how it looks, it may lead to an unfit result. This isn’t something a centre can waive on request; it depends entirely on how the scar appears on the scan.
If you know you have an old chest injury, surgery, or a past TB scar, it’s worth speaking to a doctor beforehand and carrying any old medical records or reports that explain it. Having that documentation ready doesn’t guarantee a fit result, but it can help if the centre has questions about your X-ray.
